Where Excellence Begins
Northside College is an independent school which offers a smaller classroom environment to Grade 8’s, 9's and 10's. The College caters for pupils who are of average to above-average intellect who are ready to mainstream but experience barriers to effective learning.
Emphasis is placed on providing mild to moderate support. Staff assist the pupil in re-gaining lost confidence, improving self-esteem and reaching his or her full ability and potential. The objective is to develop skills that would enable the pupil to deal with the demands of high school. At the end of grade 9, depending on circumstances and providing the pupil has met the relevant criteria, the pupil may integrate into Northcliff High School.
We encourage broad participation allowing opportunities for all pupils. We offer the following Sports in association with Northcliff High School:
Athletics * Chess * Cricket (boys) * Cricket (girls) * Cross Country * Golf * Hockey (boys) * Hockey (girls) * Rugby * Squash (boys) * Squash (girls)
Netball * Spinning * Swimming * Tennis (boys) * Tennis (girls)
The school is located at Church Alive on the corner of Castle Hill and Mountainview Drive, Northcliff, Johannesburg.
Directly across the road from Northcliff High School.
Although we are based at Church Alive, we are a non-denominational co-educational school.
A mainstream curriculum would be followed as outlined by the Gauteng Department of Education, with the focus on knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and develop a strong sense of responsibility for learning in the eight key areas of Language, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Technology, Arts & Culture, Life Orientation and Economic Management Sciences with emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy.
